The Counseling & Testing Linkage (CTL) Counselor for the AIDS Services Association of Pinellas (ASAP) will provide referrals to individuals who receive pre and post test counseling. Referral services are based on the individual needs of clients and their immediate family. Counselors are required to obtain documentation from agencies and/or clients that referral sources are completed. CTL counselors will perform client and program related record keeping functions. CTL counselor will stay abreast and informed of all aspects of the AIDS epidemic. The CTL counselor reports directly to the Prevention and Testing Coordinator.

This is grant funded position that is availale until August 2012.

This is also a part-time position (25 hours/week) with some flexibility with the work schedule. Must be willing to work evenings and/or weekends, as needed.

Position Requirements

1. High School Diploma.
2. Experience in the field of HIV/AIDS
3. Computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
4. Sensitivity in cultural diversity and alternative sexual orientation to include: Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual and Trans-Gendered Communities.
5. Sensitivity to psychosocial issues concerning individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
6. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
7. Flexibility to attended meetings and trainings, which may fall outside the regularly scheduled working hours.
8. Ability to work without direct supervision.
9. Current Florida Driver’s License, auto insurance and accessibility to a vehicle.
10. The successful candidate must submit to pre-employment assessment of administrative skills.
11. You must be willing to submit to and successfully complete a background check screening.
